Obituary for James (Jimmie) Clifton Allen
James (Jimmie) C. Allen, Jr. passed away January 27, 2013. He is survived by his wife Cindy Allen; daughters Laural Davis (G.W.) of Emporia and Tonya Allen of Crew; grandchildren Joshua Emerson, Lyndsey Hodge and Emily Hodge; sister Karen Taylor (Robert); brothers Kenny and Michael (Pam), all of Emporia; sister in law and husband Sherry and Mike Scott; his mother in law Mollie Roberts, nieces and nephews and his granddog Ringo. He retired as a detective from the City of Emporia Police Department after serving 31 years. He was an assistant softball coach with Greensville County High School for more than 25 years, a member of Meherrin Ruritan Club, a member of the Emporia-Greensville Recreation Association where he also served as building and grounds supervisor and also served as umpire. Jimmie was a proud member of the local band Reunion and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6-8 pm, in Echols Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11am, in Echols Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in Greensville Memorial Cemetery.
