Obituary for James (Jimmie) Clifton Allen
James (Jimmie) C. Allen, Jr. passed away January 27, 2013. He is survived by his wife Cindy Allen; daughters Laural Davis (G.W.) of Emporia and Tonya Allen of Crew; grandchildren Joshua Emerson, Lyndsey Hodge and Emily Hodge; sister Karen Taylor (Robert); brothers Kenny and Michael (Pam), all of Emporia; sister in law and husband Sherry and Mike Scott; his mother in law Mollie Roberts, nieces and nephews and his granddog Ringo. He retired as a detective from the City of Emporia Police Department after serving 31 years. He was an assistant softball coach with Greensville County High School for more than 25 years, a member of Meherrin Ruritan Club, a member of the Emporia-Greensville Recreation Association where he also served as building and grounds supervisor and also served as umpire. Jimmie was a proud member of the local band Reunion and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6-8 pm, in Echols Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11am, in Echols Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in Greensville Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to www.Echolsfuneralhome.com
