Thomas C. Luckett, Sr, July 5, 1939-December 18, 2012
Thomas C. Luckett, Sr., 73, better known as Tom, T.C. and Big Tommy, was called home Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Tom was a former roller figure skating champion, a self employed contractor, master mason, woodcraftsman and in his retirement, the Wii bowling champ among his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing the drums and singing in various country music groups over the years, providing entertainment to those that loved to dance. Most of all, he was beloved teacher and mentor known as Daddy and Papa.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, William Arthur and Helen Luckett, his first wife, Virginia Lambert Luckett and his second wife, Linda Gentry Hamrick Luckett. He is survived by his children, Tommy (Linda) Luckett, Jr, of Palm Bay, Florida, Brigitte Petersen of Bedford, VA, Crystal Luckett Cheely (Tony Solomon) of South Hill, VA and Gwendolyn Michelle (Gene) Clapper of Kenbridge, VA, stepchildren Bob (Vickie) Hamrick, Richmond, VA, Donna (Keith) Hamrick Traylor, Prince George, and Marie Hamrick and Terrell, Nikko and Tiffany, Cumberland, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joshua Luckett of Straits, NC, Kristin and Tyler Cheely of Dolphin, VA, Alyssa Reynolds and Tommy Clapper of Kenbridge, VA, Ryan and Courtney Clapper and Bradley and Cameron Solomon, his sister, Pat (Bobby) Riddle of Blackstone, VA, his uncle Milton (Margaret) Owen of Richmond, close bud and cousin Rick Mizell, his nieces and nephews and furry grandson Jack Luckett.
A service honoring Tom’s life will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Victoria/Lunenburg Community Center, 1421 6th Ave, Victoria, VA, commencing at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to your local fire and ems service. The family wishes to thank everyone that tended to Daddy’s care during his hospital stays at Community Memorial Center, Henrico Doctors Hospital-Parham and Kindred Hospital, and his home aide, Denea White.
