Obituary for Sandy Alexander Kei
Sandy Kei, 80, died on Wednesday evening September 25, 2013, at John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell. He was born October 18, 1932, the son of the late Vendel and Bessie Matecska Kei of Emporia, Virginia. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his companion of 32 years, Gail S. Beville of Emporia, VA; one daughter, Sandra K Harrison and husband, Lloyd “Buck” Harrison, III, of McKenney, VA and one son, Brian A. Kei of Prince George, VA; two granddaughters, Morgan E. and Kacey B. Kei also of Prince George. Sandy is also survived by sisters Bessie K. Smith of Hopewell, Mary K. Riegel of Richmond, Anne K. Newsome, Julia K. Sprouse of Emporia, and brother Charlie L. Kei, also of Emporia. Sandy Kei owned and operated a service station on Main Street in Emporia for over 40 years and was an Honorary Member of the Emporia Volunteer Fire Department. Visitation will be held at Echols Funeral Home Chapel, 806 Brunswick Avenue, Emporia, VA, on Saturday, September 28th from 6:00PM to 8:30PM. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to the Emporia Volunteer Fire Department, 201 Halifax Street, Emporia, VA 23847 or the American Heart Association, P.O.
