Obituary for Nell Tomlinson Prince
Nell Tomlinson Prince, (Nellie) age 88, passed away on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023 after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late James and Stella Tomlinson of Emporia, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Arthur M. (Preacher) Prince and her son, Milton Steve Prince.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rosemary Black Prince, granddaughters, Michele Prince Turner, Amanda Prince Sadler (Elliott) and grandson, Michael Steve Prince (Tonya), 5 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Turner, Andrew Prince, Avarie Prince, Wyatt Sadler and Austyn Sadler, Sister, Mildred Rawlings of Hopewell, VA, sister-in-law Bernice Phillips, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nellie was devout Christian and a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church where she was involved with many of the churches activities until her health began to decline.
She worked for many years at the Emporia Garment Company but her greatest joy in life was her family.
Funeral services will be held at Mount Vernon Baptist Church on Wednesday, 12/20 at 2 pm with visitation prior to the service starting at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 16489 Dry Bread Rd., Emporia VA.
