Obituary for Lucy Jane Moseley Daniel
Lucy Jane Moseley Daniel, 87, of Emporia, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025.
She is the widow of James Arthur Daniel and is also preceded in death by her great-grandson, Jason “Baby Jason” Smith, Jr. and her sisters, Blonnie Stotesbury, Ethel Jones, and Hazel Ezell.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Valerie Merricks and her special friend, Mike Sloan, Carolyn Dorsey and her husband, Michael, and Rita Johnson and her husband, Randy; grandchildren, Jason Smith, Tonya Bryant and her husband, Frankie, and Brian Johnson and his wife, Tracey; great-grandchildren, Stevie Smith, Nikolas Bryant, Natalie Bryant, Kayleigh Smith, Bristol Johnson, Nicholas Temple, Gracey Temple, and Ayden Speight; sisters, Betty Lett, Hattie Baird, and Virginia Clary; brothers, George Moseley and his wife, Christiana, and Robert Moseley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Independence Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Independence Cemetery Fund and may be mailed to 5334 Dry Bread Road Emporia, VA 23847.
