Jeffrey “Paul” Ligon, Jr., 83, passed away on January 20, 2026, after a long illness. He was the oldest son of Jeffrey Paul Ligon, Sr. and Aleise Hawkins Ligon. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Peggy Harris Ligon, one son, Kennon Paul Ligon and his wife, Sandra, one brother, Gerald Hawkins Ligon and his wife Patricia.
For 51 years, Paul, also known as Green Giant, was a long-distance truck driver. He loved traveling, trucks, and meeting fellow truckers. He drove over 5 million miles in his lifetime. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time fishing with his friends.
Visitation will be held at Echols Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 6pm-8pm. A funeral service will be officiated by Reverend Larry Grizzard at Echols Funeral Home, Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11am with interment in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Baptist Church or Greensville Volunteer Fire Department.
