Herman “Ed” Pearson, Jr. of Chester passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 1st. He was 86 years old. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Herman, Sr. & Frances (Bingham) Pearson. Survivors include his son, Herman, III “Ned” & Amy Pearson of New Kent, VA; his daughter Julia Pearson of Colonial Heights, VA; grandchildren Brandon, Corryn and Bonnie; great-grandchildren Jewlya. Cheyenne, Charlotte & Scarlett; brother Bill & Kay Pearson of Alcoa, TN; sister Linda of Titusville, FL; and several nephews, great nieces & nephews, and cousins.
Ed was born and raised in Emporia, Virginia. He served in the United States Army and worked as a civil engineer with the Tennessee Valley Authority and Woodward-Clyde and Associates in many states across the U.S. He retired from the City of Richmond Public Works Department. He was an avid antique collector and gardener.
A visitation will be held at Echols Funeral Home, 806 Brunswick Avenue, Emporia, VA on Sunday August 6th at 1:00 p.m. and funeral at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service will follow at Grace Church, 11450 Purdy Rd., Jarratt, VA.
