Obituary for Elizabeth Sanders Turner
Elizabeth Sanders Turner, age 79, slipped away to her eternal home on Thursday May 11, 2023. She was born in North Carolina and was a southern woman who loved her church more than anything. She was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church for 37 years, where she was also a Sunday school teacher for several of those years. Her favorite bible verse was John 3:16 and her favorite things to do were spend time with her family and her church family. She loved chocolate and loved to laugh. She will be deeply missed by so many and her memories will live on in all those she left behind.
She was predeceased and now reunited with her loving husband, Lewis Turner Sr. (Pops), her son Donald Turner, her parents, Roland and Margaret Sanders of Weldon, NC, two Brothers, Tracy R. Sanders and Weldon, NC and Earl B. Sanders of Manteo, NC, and one sister, Kathy Sanders Watson of Weldon, NC.
Left here to cherish her memories are her son, Lewis Turner Jr (Joey Turner) and wife, Nancy M. Turner of Emporia, VA, sister, Helen S. Neal of Roanoke Rapids, NC, brothers, Lacy G. Sanders of Pittsboro, NC and Ricky and Debbie Sanders of Roanoke Rapids, NC, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life service, graveside only, at Forest Hill Baptist church in Skippers, VA on Tuesday May 16, 2023 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Forest Hill Baptist Church in Skippers, Virginia or The Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit 202 Hicksford Avenue, Emporia, Virginia.
