Obituary for Elaine Phillips Newsome
Elaine P. Newsome, 84, of Emporia, Va., passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. She was the daughter of the late, Bernard Thomas Phillips and Dora Huckstep Phillips
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Glenn B. Newsome (Donna); daughter, Betsy N. Veliky (Tony), grandchildren, Stacie Batt (David), Crystal Davis (Jason), Michael Barnes (Kari), Steve Barnes (Jaelyn), Cyndal Perkins (Peyton), Heather Veliky (Holden), Crystal Jones (Danny), sister, Frances Chrisley, along with 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Echols Funeral Home, 806 Brunswick Avenue, Emporia, VA., followed by the funeral service at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. C.W. Bing officiating. Interment will follow to Independence United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4438 Independence Church Road, Emporia, VA.
