Obituary for Anna Murphrey Kreienbaum
Anna Harper Murphrey Kreienbaum passed away March 28, 2024 in Emporia, VA. She was born on November 16, 1936 in Roanoke Rapids, NC to the late Dr. and Mrs. Willis Everette Murphrey Jr. She graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School, Saint Mary’s College and Wake Forest University.
Mrs. Kreienbaum moved to Emporia in 1958 and taught school in Greensville County Public Schools for three years. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. She loved her former students, church family and the Emporia community. She made friends easily and was loved by all that knew her. She loved to talk and laugh and everyone enjoyed her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Willis Everette Murphrey III.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arthur Henry Kreienbaum Jr., daughter, Alice Stancell Kreienbaum Belmonte and husband Nick, Rebecca Kreienbaum O’Connor and husband Charles of Greenville, NC., son, Arthur Henry Kreienbaum III “Tony” and wife Katy of Charlottesville, VA., grandchildren, Roy Nicholas Belmonte Jr. and wife Kate of Richmond, VA., Charles Anthony Belmonte of Richmond, VA., Arthur Henry Kreienbaum IV of Atlanta, GA., Anna Rachels Kreienbaum of Charleston, SC., and Charles Stuart O’Connor Jr., of Greenville, NC., and her great grandchildren, Caroline Margaret Belmonte and Elizabeth Frances Belmonte.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Emporia, VA., with Pastor Penny Rasnake officiating, a reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. A private family burial will take place before the service.
